Wilton Junction Bradcorp is one of three landowners working co-operatively with Wollondilly Council to investigate a new town at Wilton that would deliver high quality new housing, employment close to home, supporting infrastructure and services and a range of complementary land uses.

It is anticipated that up to 12,000 new homes would be built and more than 11,000 jobs created in the Wollondilly Shire.

The first stage in the planning process has been the drafting of a high-level Masterplan by Bradcorp, Walker Corporation and Governor's Hill proposing a community that offers a range of employment, community, recreation, commercial and health facilities integrated with the existing Wilton Village, Bingara Gorge and the Broader area.

The decision to work towards an integrated Masterplan for the region was taken after the State Government invited landowners in 2011 to nominate sites which might deliver additional housing to address Sydney's shortage.

The vision for Wilton Junction is a high quality township that delivers housing diversity and choice and a high level of employment and service self-sufficiency by:

  • Utilising its locational advantages at the crossroads of the Hume Highway and Picton Road
  • Building on the exceptional environmental context of the site by integrating the surrounding gorges and bushland with an open space and pedestrian network that permeates the whole site
The Masterplan proposes approximately 10,000 to 12,000 homes in a small number of villages. New homes would include a mix of rural residential dwellings as well as low and medium density housing in lot sizes ranging from 250m2 to 750m2. It is anticipated that 400 lots per year would be released over the 30 year life of the project.

Wilton Junction has the potential to become the regional focus for Wollondilly Shire and surrounding areas attracting a new generation of employment opportunities and ensuring the preservation of the existing village-like qualities and lifestyle of existing townships within the Shire as a new town centre and urban growth is consolidated at Wilton.

    The Masterplan is to address:

  • All land generally in the vicinity of the Picton Road - Hume Highway interchange at Wilton
  • The creation of a new town at Wilton to provide houses, employment, supporting infrastructure and services and complementary land uses to support liveability and sustainability
  • An overall structure and staging plan
  • All current and future infrastructure requirements and an infrastructure funding strategy to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
The timeframe for the development will be subject to a decision on land release by the State Government, however, we continue to work closely with Wollondilly Council and the local community as this process evolves.
